Energy - efficient Capacitive Deionization (CDI)

Energy - efficient Capacitive Deionization (CDI)
Introduction

Capacitive deionization (CDI) is considered as a next-generation green technology for brackish water desalination due to its high desalination and energy storage capacity. CDI outperforms RO in terms of low energy consumption (<0.5 kWh/m3) and high water recovery (≧70%). ITRI has successfully developed the TiO2-modified electrode and further optimized the module design and operation mode, leading to superior desalination efficiency and electrode stability
