Application of FBR-Fenton in Paper Mill Wastewater Treatment

Background

The paper mill is located in Malaysia. Wastewater generated from manufacturing processes typically contains high concentration of hard-to-degrade organic substances, increasing the difficulty to comply the effluent standard for Chemical Oxygen Demand (COD).

Applications

The local engineering company, TRIDENT INNOVATIONS SDN BHD, has collaborated with ITRI to implement FBR-Fenton technology for the degradation of recalcitrant organic compounds in wastewater, in order to improve the effluent quality after wastewater treatment.

  • Capacity: 28,950 CMD
  • Influent COD: 180-200 mg/L
  • Effluent COD: <80 mg/L
  • Reactor size: 3.3 mØ * 16.5 mH * 5
