Dr. Manish Kumar任教於 Department of Chemical Engineering, The Pennsylvania State University. Dr. Kumar的研究興趣主要在於仿生膜(Biomimetic membrane)、薄膜材料與脫鹽 。Dr. Kumar率先於2007提出以細胞膜上的水通道蛋白（Aquaporin）來增加薄膜水通量的研究報告。研究團隊目前致力於研究Aquaporin蛋白的水分子傳輸機制，更進一步創新研究以有機合成製成人工水通道( Artificial Water Channel)，以解決Aquaporin在薄膜運用上穩定性與成本上的問題，這方面的研究在同儕間處於領先的地位。
Dr. Manish Kumar曾服務於美國MWH顧問公司,有豐富的工程經驗，對於水回收與薄膜脫鹽獨到的見解，也針對薄膜污堵控制等薄膜程序問題有深入的研究。
